Black tank flush

Hello, I have another newbie question. My 264 rks has a black tank flush connection on the door side , while being hooked up at a full hookup campground last weekend , I tried it out but don't know if I did it right or not. I haven't found any literature on how to use it so I just guessed. After dumping my black tank I turned on the water to the flush connection and opened and closed my waste gate several times fearing overflowing the tank I didn't keep it closed off long. Is this the proper way to use it ? Also does it spray water around in there or just fill it with water ? Thanks

It's similar to a sprinkler head and shoots water around inside...takes a while since the line going into the tank is only 1/2"...so you can leave it run a few minutes then open the valve and repeat a few times...just don't walk away from it when you are doing it as you may get distracted and forget about it, then you have a big poopy mess!

I have timed it and it seems to take approx. 8 minutes for mine to reach full. So I let it run 4 minutes with the valve closed. Open it till I hear the flow slowing down. I probably over kill it but I do this many times, 7 or 8, depending on how much time I have that morning on our break down to load up and move out.

When I'm at a full service campground I monitor the drain hose and the level lights. You should be able to hear the blank tank start to empty. I turn on the flush hose after it has been draining for 15 seconds or so. You should hear a continuing drain of water, nothing major. Then I will monitor the black tank level lights. Not all will extinguish very time so I use a little common sense and shut the water off after 15 minutes or so. You can use a removable clear adaptor between the tank drain connection and your drain hose to monitor water color. Good luck..

Nope, about thirty yards from it. Felt safe drinking it at that distance.
