Well I have been waiting to post about my experience with my TV towing a Surveyor Select SV 291. The trailer is a 30 feet long, the dry weight is 5,300 lbs. The Durango is the R/T with the Hemi engine on it, it also has the factory installed towing package, it is capable of towing 7,200 lbs. The first thing I did when I bought the trailer was to install the ProPride hitch because I knew that the length of the trailer was going to be an issue with the short wheel base of the Durango (120 inches). I have towed over 500 miles this year, in Eastern Pennsylvania, and today a total of 300 miles. So far there has been no problems. I know that I am close to the towing limits with my TV and I will never be able to go over higher elevations but I just wanted to let people know what that you don't always need a large vehicle to tow. I will keep updating the post every time I get a chance.

Not to be the weight police, but: You don't discuss hitch weight/payload. The website below says your GVWR is around 6900 lbs, which is a few hundred less than your towing capacity; however, payload is usually included in the tow capacity. Also, your dry hitch weight is 440 lbs. Add in a 100 lbs for gas and battery and you're at 540 lbs. If you're using a WDH, add another 75 lbs, now you're around 615 lbs. Add in any passengers and gear and I'm guessing you're overweight on payload.

Probably OK out in the midwest, but I'm surprised you're comfortable in eastern PA.

I also tow with an RT Durango, with a slightly longer and heavier surveyor. I just did a round trip from NJ to South Carolina and it handled it incredibly. The Hemi Durango definitely punches above it's weight class.
