Hinge problem fixed. Curtis from RVnation shipped me the new hinge. I drilled it out and installed the new. My local dealer Transcona trailer refuses to service units they did not sell. So I did the warranty job myself thanks to Curtis!

WD-40 literally stands for Water Displacement, 40th formula. That's the name straight out of the lab book used by the chemist who developed the product back in 1953. The chemist, Norm Larsen, was attempting to concoct a formula to prevent corrosion—a task which is done by displacing water. Norm's persistence paid off when he perfected the formula on his 40th try.

Hinge

My welder buddy says he has never seen anything like it. The aluminum hinge was seized solid. The trailer came right of the factory and into winter storage last fall. We think it was either that paint settled in the hinge or the plastic grommets in between swelled. He is going to take it apart just out of curiosity to see if he can see the problem.

The facts on the WD40 are cool. I'm a bit of a Cliff Clavin myself. That will be a handy piece of trivia.

Thanks Guys
