The exterior is actually a thin coat of fiberglass matt bonded to luan plywood. I would rather have this be a thicker layer of just fiberglass weave instead of the thin (about 1/8") plywood, but, it is what it is. The production cost would be higher for thicker glass, but I believe I would pay the difference. I'm pretty sure the delamination issues most trailers have are attributed to delamination between the plywood layers from moisture getting in there. Sad... but the RV industry needs a good kick in the pants. I keep mine in covered storage, to prevent the sun and rain from getting to it on a daily basis. I think it will last a long time like that... If not, I'm paying for nothing...
