Howdy, we have had our new 2016 Surveyor 251RKS for 1 day short of a month. We love it. We were able to drive to Indiana and see our camper being built on the assembly line in February. Awesome experience.
Hope you enjoy your new 251RKS as much as we have for the short time that we've had it. First real camping trip (not in the back yard LOL) is in 2 weeks.

Welcome and congratulations. We picked up our 2016 251rks in January and have camped about 13 since then. We love the trailer. We tow with a 2007 f150 and have towed about 500 miles so far with no trouble and plenty of power. The trailer tows really well. The only downside we have found is you can't open or close the bathroom door with the slide in. I hope you love yours as much as we love ours

That's awesome - congratulations. We set up in the back yard and the first thing we noticed was the bathroom door not being able to open/close with the slide out "in", but its ok;we just leave the door open. Thank you for replying, we are looking forward to being apart of this forum. Keep on enjoying camping and enjoying the camper.

Hello

What is the hitch weight when you're set for camping? About 15% of total weight? I'm trying to pick the proper equal-i-zer bars.

15% of the total weight is a good rule of thumb. Start with the hitch weight from the brochure and add 2 (2016) bottles and a battery - more if your storage compartment is up front.
Hope this helps.

Look at the post titled "251rks", there are some pictures posted of the solution to the bathroom door with a magnetic door stop, great idea, I went today and got mine from home depot for less than 6.00 dollars

Cowboy - be certain to check the plumbing under the sinks. The kitchen for leaks when water is in the sink; the bathroom for 90* kinks in the supply lines. Oh, and check the onboard water pump / check valve to ensure that water isn't pumped out hose hookup. . .
