First trip out

We got back on Thursday after our first trip with the new 243RBS. It was a dream come true. We went to Glimmerglass state park near Cooperstown, NY (site of the Baseball Hall of Fame). We had almost 6 weeks of getting things ready for the trailer so we didn't forget to much. We have a list going for the next trip which is this Wednesday. The only problem we had was with the fan in the roof vent in the bathroom. We kept it running at night to keep a nice breeze flowing through and around 2 am it was making noise as if the motor was straining. I shut it off and tried to turn it back on but it wouldn't come back on. It proceeded to work intermittently on and off all weekend and even went on by itself a few times. We had a small list of things and we stopped by the dealer on the way home to get them corrected. I think they had a Labrador retriever drill some of the holes for the cabinet handles. Nothing against Lab's, but I can't believe this thing left the factory with the handle's as crooked as they are. They will be taking care of it. We had a lot of fun with it and can't wait to get back out this week. I'll have some questions for you people when I get some time, Thanks for reading, Boomer.

Congratulations on the new rig. We hope to get to Glimmer Glass soon. It is small but I hear real nice.
We are going to Lake George Escape next weekend. Place we used to go all the time. DW wants to go back. No longer one of my top camp grounds. Too many incidents there over the last couple of years.
Favorite is Rollins Pond.

Hey Boomer, good to hear your trip was a success. We had a good trip up into Ontario, and I have recently returned from a 3+ week camping in Texas. Tomorrow we head out for a few days up in the Smokies, without hookups. I'm hoping my 100W solar panel will keep the fridge going. Enjoy the Catskills!

Thanks DL. We got back this afternoon from a nice 4 days. When we got the trailer, they gave us this deal where we got 30 free nights for the first year at a Thousand Trails RV park. I was very skeptical as I didn't want a sales pitch for a membership but they only mentioned it when we checked in and that was it. The place was ok, a little old but clean. The trailer worked fine and I wished I did a better job leveling it when we set up but it was alright. We took a train down to NYC for the day and had a nice walk through Central Park and then dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant, Carmine's. We have a few things that it is going back to the dealer for in July and they will get resolved. I want to have a friend of mine take it out for a quick ride on the interstate and tell me if he feels it is handling ok. I don't have a lot of experience towing a travel trailer and it just doesn't feel right so I am wondering if the hitch is adjusted right. Thanks for reading, Boomer.

Thousand Trails in the north east has a lot to be desired. Round Out was ok but not sure if I would go back. Lake George Escape is now under Thousand Trails. Which is a lot nicer. Wells Maine one was all about location. Everything you would like to use like WiFi is extra.

It is not a place I would want to buy in to and I don't even know what a membership costs. I would like to check out the place in Maine, maybe this September.
