Forest River Customer Service

We have a 2015 SP240RBS that we bought last year from Camping World in Meridian ID. We have only gotten to use the trailer once, last fall, but it was a nice trip and we really enjoyed our new camp trailer! We loved the outside kitchen and big bathroom, and after being cramped in the corner bed in our old camper the queen with room on both sides was really nice!!

We had one problem, that was the sprayer on the kitchen faucet, which pulls out from the gooseneck and doubles as the main faucet outlet, cracked open on the side right away and sprayed water everywhere. It appears to be have been molded incorrectly with a very thin area that cracked right away. I effected a temporary repair with duct tape and we got by with it until we returned home.

After we got back, it was time to put the camper away for winter so I winterized it and put it in storage. I took the defective sprayer to camping world and asked about getting a new one, which seemed to me should be a pretty simple proposition, and found out it was not. The staff at Camping World derided me for not having an appointment with a "service advisor". When I finally did get to talk to a "service advisor" I was told they could not do anything unless I made an appointment to bring the whole trailer in. I showed them the cracked sprayer, explained that it occured on the first use of the camper we had just bought from them, and they could not have cared less. I had a lot of things going on at that time and did not get around to following up on the issue. A few days ago, I remembered the problem with the sprayer and e-mailed Forest River. Long story short, they are sending me a new faucet! Thank you Forest River for standing behind your product when your dealer was determined to be a....well, I won't say.

We had our sprayer replaced under warranty, along with a new stove hood fan( original one had a big scratch on front.. Then the replacement was replace due to a dent on the right side which was very noticeable ) I find no matter which dealership you go to , you have to go in ( with an appointment) armed with your warranty issues and ride them, or they slough you off. We had to tow our current trailer ( SP240) in 3 times to have done what should have been done the first time! We did the same with our last trailer... I am glad Forest River came through for you😄

On our Wildcat 327ck we had the ceiling fan short out. In our travels we stopped in Phoenix to have it worked on under our service contract. With our service contract it was going to cost us $220 to have it fixed. After a call to our home RV dealer it was arranged to have Forest River to send us the new fan and pay for the entire bill in Phoenix. Thank you to Forest River and Hilltop RV, Ishpeming, Mi. for the great service.

Great post. We are finding out also that FR is good about responding to customer issues directly. Our dealer is good to work with, however, everyone on this post is correct. Every little issue becomes a federal case with appointments, coach downtime, warranty approvals, etc. Will be fixing things myself going forward unless something major happens which I do not expect.

I've had very good luck with warranty repairs by my dealer. I've had no need to call Wildcat/Forest River.

While in Florida for a winter vacation, my CO/LP detector went bad. I checked and found a Forest River dealer who didn't carry the Wildcat brand. However, all I had do was take a photo of my serial number and bring in the defective detector. They didn't have one in stock so they mailed it to me for an easy installation.

You must have a bad dealer to treat you like that.

Camping World dealers

3 years ago we made the mistake of buying a camper from a Camping World dealer. we bought a brand new 2012 crossroads Trailer and spent the better part of half the summer at the Camping World Dealer in Akron Ohio. after getting the run around twice from the dealer in Akron I started contacting crossroads directly and was on a first name basis with one of the managers at Crossroads. it was the only way I could get anything taken care of at that dealership in a timely manner. and since I live south of Pittsburgh it was a 2 hour drive every time I had to take the trailer up there. the Trailer ended up being such a lemon that we finally got rid of it after only owning it for six months, and then we went and got a Forest River coachman which we used for two summers without any problems at all. that was one reason I didn't hesitate to buy another Forest River product in the Windjammer.

Apparently there is a huge difference in dealers. We bought our Shamrock 23ikss last year at Coleraine in Indy and our experience couldn't have been better. Only needed service for a few minor things and the first winterization but everything was seamless. Advisor suggested installing gutters over beds which we had them do. Reading alot about shyster dealers so a shout out to a good one.

It seems more people have trouble with Camping World than other dealers. My sister bought a brand new camper last spring from Camping World and her trailer spent more time at the dealer than in a camp ground for warranty issues. She bought a Zinger 27 ft TT and I tried to talk her out of it after reading about all the issues with this manufacture but to no avail it's what she wanted. Live and learn

After talking to a lot of people at our resort in Ohio I came to find out that we weren't the only people having trouble with the Camping World dealer in Akron.

Oh wonderful...... That's where I bought mine last October. I didn't like the salesman due to his lack of interest once the deal was completed, but now I gotta worry about service too. (Well, I kinda expected that from them, so shame on me).

This is the old Sirpilla dealer I believe. CW bought them out and they continue to operate the same way. CW didn't slap them around and tell them to fly straight.

I'm hoping I don't run into anything major and the problems we find in the shake down phase can all be repaired under warranty at Goshen.

Ok...seat belt is fastened.....
