What an awesome floorplan!

I have a gas engine so I should think you would see a different if not a better towing experience than I have.
I bought the slider as a "just in case thing" and have not used it yet. I have a super cab vs. your crew cab so my bed is a few inches longer than yours. I'm glad I have the slider and if I had your bed I think it would be even more important. I got the final price for the 5er then went out and looked for a hitch and the best price. Came back to the dealer and got them to throw in the hitch for what I think was their cost. Good luck with your search.
what air bags did you go with and what slider hitch ?

I have Air Lift 5000 bags and the Reese 18K Elite Slider. My F250 was purchased with the factory installed 5th wheel prep package. Everything seems to be working out fine.

Looks real nice. I noticed some of the 2014's have a tan color exterior and yours is white like ours. Is the colored exterior an option? Also, is your CD/AM/FM mounted in the bedroom or under the TV in the living room? Mine is in the bedroom and I would have liked it to be in the living room like I see in the 2014's. Hope you're planning to be at the Goshen rally next August.

I am close to the purchase of a 2013 Surveyor and was wondering if anyone has had any issues with this new model from Forest River

Zoeman: What model are you looking at? I have a 5th Wheel SVF293 and really like it. Very few minor problems that aren't worth mentioning. Put about 2000 miles on it in and around Michigan and Indiana last summer. Currently in Florida and having a great time. Good luck with your final decision.

Forest River Surveyor 293 RL

I have decided that the 293 is the one we are attempting to make a deal on tomorrow. It is a year old and have not looked at the new unit yet. We have looked at a lot of pictures and really like the layout.
Live in S W Fl. and looking forward to a week starting at the Strawberry Festival then on to Orlando for a few more days.
Is your spare in the front compartment? Have you considered mounting it under neath.

The spare is in the front compartment and takes up little space. Can't see why you would want to tear a hole into the underliner to mount it. Suggest you really think that out and see if you really need that space so bad. Hope if you end up making the deal that you like it as much as we do. We're volunteering at a Florida State Park in Apalachicola (in the panhandle) and need to head back to snow country in 2 1/2 weeks.

SO sorry you have to head back north, was thinking of mounting the spare on the rack in the back but not unless I need the room. I own a 2006 Sidney Outback and love the additional storage space. Enjoy your last few weeks in God's staging area prior to heaven (Fl.) Thank you, looking forward to many great camping experiences.

That makes a bit more sense. We use the rear rack to mount my and my wifes bikes. Maybe we'll see you in Goshen in August??

Goshen, IN is where the International Forest River Rally is held. Last year there were 350 rigs and we had a blast. It lasts for a week and there is much to do. Check out the Forest River newsletter and the thread on this forum. Registration has not begun, but should start real soon. Last year I was the only Surveyor 5th wheel and hope to see more this time.
