FR Extended Warranty - Canadians
I called to purchase the FR 2nd year warranty. I wasn't sure if my bank was set up to account for the change from Cdn to US funds with a cheque. After speaking with a girl in Warranty I was given another number to call. I called 1-574-534-3167 and spoke to Rhonda and paid for the 2nd year with my credit card. She will be mailing the warranty to me along with my credit card receipt and the whole affair took about 2 minutes...............priceless

Our dealer didnt even mention the additional 2nd year warranty offered by FR. I'm assuming you can contact FR directly and don't need to go through your dealer in order to do this?

Yup, You can do it directly ! Actually I got mine done at the very same factory my unit was built ! it is a shame they were not building 291's that day I would have NEVER EVER left without taking gazillions of pictures of each stage of production.

150 usd ....You have to get it within the first 10 days of owning your brand new trailer.

We had our 2nd year added for free and then bought the 5 year on top of that. Ask at your dealership when making your purchases.
It doesn't cost you anything to ask!

That is good to know. I actually went into my bank and opened a US dollar chequing account to get my 2nd year warranty done.

I believe it is exectly the same as the 1st year, it's just an extension of it.

That is my understanding too, extension of the original warranty. The warranty papers list the items covered if I recall correctly.
What is that about a 5 year warranty ? That must be a dealer warranty, and they probably covered the second year FR warranty or told you you are covered. Did you get the papers from FR for the second year warranty ?

All you have to do is write USD near the dollar amount on your cheque when purchasing from the US.

I thought so; but with the 10 day rule I wanted to be sure. The account I opened was a pay-per-use type; so no other fees to worry about.
I had also considered getting a draft or money order; but I wanted to be able to have the cheque returned just in case I run into an issue in month 23 or something.
Perhaps a little paranoid; but I also had never dealt with FR before.
