Frame & Axle Brands

I got under my SV 263 yesterday to check what kind of axle that I have in preparation for wheel bearing lubrication. It seems like a lot of the Forest River products come with the Al-Ko torsion axles, and thought I would have the same.......not. My torsion axle is manufactured by Lippert Components Inc......and I thought they just made frames and slides. Besides that, my frame was manufactured by Dexter.....which is known for axles. Geez.

So, it seems that I have Lippert axles on a Dexter frame. Everything seems to work great, but this discovery was a surprise to me. Just wondering what setup other Surveyor and Forest River owners have on their rigs.

I would think it would be the other way around. Dexter axles and LCI frame.

Bob, that is weird that we both have Surveyors about the same size, and have different axles. Are yours 3500 Lbs. each ??

I found the Dexter frame information on the inside of the port side tongue frame up near the coupler.
