We had our 2015 Crusader 295 RST develop the same appearance issue. We sent pictures to our selling dealer who shared them with FR. The reply came back that Forest River would repaint, clear coat the front cap. It came back to us as shiny as a highly polished silver piece. My hat goes off to Forest River for standing behind their products. I know people bad mouth this particular manufacturer, but I can not endorse them strongly enough.

We have to agree. It's a love/hate thing!

All gelcoats will oxidize with time and usually the darker colors do so more quickly than white. The RV manufacturers are famous for using the cheapest materials available and sometimes they admit they screwed-up. If they will replace it, Id go that route BUT, it WILL happen again!

Buffing and polishing is one solution but it is a very temporary fix. We tried everything on our 2012 Wildcat Sterling. What we found that worked the best is Poli Glow. Get the 3 part kit that includes the Poli Ox, follow the instructions (it is very easy) and you will be set for a year when a single coat will bring it back to looking like new again.

This is interesting as I have a 2013 Silver Back. When I bought it, the dealer sold me Cilajet that is supposed to last 5 years. We bought the unit in Feb 2015 used. Today the front cap and drivers side and back end are heavily oxidized. I called on the Cilajet warranty and they say its covered. I'm wondering how far its going to be covered with what I've read here?

No help

Was told my 2015 Surveyor 251RKS was out FR warranty and cap manufacturers warranty so there wasn't anything FR would do. If I sent pictures they would review the issue. I had just had a RV detailer buff and wax the cap before I found out about the manufacturer defect so pictures won't show the damage. I am pretty much screwed with a defective front cap that looks terrible and will kill my resale value. FR sucks and I will not buy another. I like my camper a lot and try to make it look good. Once the wax job wears off it will look like crap again.

Maybe you can still keep it looking like new. I tried that new look by rustoleum on my truck trim it was all faded gray, I was shocked how they look now they are like new. The product works not cheap, but go's a long way that could be your answer when it starts to oxy. again......They have a web site Newlook.com....

I feel your pain but if you really mean that- why not get it painted and go
camping and try to love your rig again??
Deal with it and move on and

Painting the fade will last 3 - 5 years and then it will be back. So that being the case, I will spend those dollars when I am ready to get rid of it. In the mean time, I will spend the time each year to make it as good as possible.
