Furnace question

Down to 40 (that's cold for southern folks &#128512 at night this weekend. Furnace stopped firing in the middle of the night, cycled the furnace but no heat, thought I was out of propane. This morning after sunup, cycled again and there was heat but not like previous (chase you out hot). Pulled the bottles and both are half or third. Thoughts? Still have 2 -3 trips planned before winterizing. Thanks...251rks surveyor

Last year, ours did the same. We have a manual change over valve, switched it to the other tank and it fired back up. Turned out to be a bad pigtail; Camco 59053 12" Pigtail Propane Hose Connector.

Just curious, did you run both bottles down intentionally, or is that a symptom of another problem?

Did you try any other propane appliance when the furnace exhibited this condition?
We've had several reports of the regulator freezing due to moisture in the propane.

Went back to my guy at suburban, when I topped off the bottles. He said it may have been because they are new and not have had bled all the air off when they filled them the first time (this is a new unit). To 5pickers point, suburban said the regulator may have frosted or froze when the temp dipped.
We are topped off and ready to go at another one-winter trip shortly...taking extra blankets

I use an oil filled electric heater, when connected to shore power. It works!

Me too...always use a small space heater when we are present...furnace only on coldest nights.

We have the 251 as well. We have the fireplace under the tv. I turn the fireplace on, and then turn the fan on, and it worked pretty well. We used a space heater to augment where needed.

I should have written that we have a 2016 251RKS. We made some modifications. We removed the door from the living room into the bathroom.(we use a curtain) We cut an access hole on the street side at the head of the bed, to let warm air to get to the water pump. We leave the oil filled heater in the bathroom. The TT is in our non-heated RV garage, where there is power.
We keep the inside temp at 44.
The DW loves the queen sized bed with walk around access directly to the bathroom.
I also installed a voltage meter next to the back door switches.
I still want to install a 110 electric plug and by pass the electrical system for heat. I'll then disconnect the positive side of the battery.

I had the same preblen while parked overnight on top of the grapevine in so cal. I tried several times to start it and no dice. I took it to the dealer to be repaired under warrenty and ended up paying $100. because warrenty was denied. They said it took them 4 or 5 times to get it working but there was nothing wrong with it. I didn't agree with it but had to pay it if I wanted the trailer back. I plan on contacting FR about the charge.

With no heat, I have had great success with a single candle, lit at night. I did this in sub-freezing temperatures, in an earlier TT. I open a top air vent an inch. The candle will keep the inside of the TT at above 40 degrees.

I had the issue in my 251RKS last week, only 2nd time needing it, first time works really well, second time it would only blow out cold air, Took it back to the dealership since it was under warranty and he blew out the furnace vent from outside and presto it works again, he said that bugs and such get up there and prevent the furnace to ignite, I bought the screen to cover it to keep out the varmints.

I visited the RF dealer this morning and bought the two round screens ($20) that cover the exhaust outlets. He said the outlet is very sensitive to pressure and even a hand held next to the exhaust will turn off the heat. "mud dobbers" are the worst cause.
