Fuses or Ckt breakers

Hi. I have a 2008 Surveyor Sport SP-186. Does anyone know if there are fuses or circuit breakers installed, and where they might be? Thanks in advance.

Probably circuit breakers on the 120 volt, and fuses on the 12 volt.

There should be a drop down panel on the power center......look for a vented plastic plate right above the floor level. Mine is directly under the fridge.

We all have both types.

Circuit breakers are for AC circuits and are found only in the power panel.
12 VDC circuits use fuses and THEY are found all OVER the gosh darn place including the power panel.

Maybe you want to know if you have auto-resetting fuses. Most of out DC circuits "ship" with single blow fuses. After a bit you will figure out which ones need to be replaced with resetting types.
(Hard to get to or go all the time)

Thanks. I did find them in the panel below the frig. I thought this was just part of the frig and didn't look. What a dope. It has 12V fuses and 3 CB. First trip tomorrow to a local park for an overnight. Party time!!

Rcihdonn, glad you found them. I also have the same model. There are also auto fuses for the trailer wiring under the front of the trailer as well. I also found out if you install the battery backwards you blow the two main 40 amp auto style fuses. left brain in my dresser that day.

Smile

Did the exact same thing with my Yamaha Generator.

Even though out of warranty, Shawn at US Carburation in WV talked me through replacing the fuse in the starter circuit and repaired the blown remote start circuit boards under warranty.
The tech support was awesome.

There are fuses in and behind almost every appliance in your camper. Just remember, every appliance is made by a different company- not Forest River, so they have to have their own fuses to protect their product- whether it be the fridge, the water heater, the A/C, etc. Then, the camper maker brings all this together into a converter circuit board and panel box, to make it all work as one big unit. Thanx people. The maiden voyage went great! Blew the GFCI circuit breaker when running a toaster oven and electric heater (forgot the heater was on) but I knew where the breaker was! Thanks again.
