This generator is about all I can lift into the bed of my truck & I am sure it gets worse with age. I almost bought a Champion with a 30 amp outlet (only produced 20 amps) but can't take the noise in the campgrounds that we use. It was a nice surprise that a hard start kit was not needed as the OP indicated.

Maybe I will share a cold one with you if you ever get out to the east coast.

Thanks.

I am not sure theres much you can do other than what you are doing.
Make sure you have a good connection on the thirty amp plug as well as the 15 amp adapter.

Too true. I use a "deer lift" when I need to move my Yamaha EF30S out for maintenance. Too heavy for just me to get in and out of the truck bed without the mini-crane.

Its hot most likely because your pulling more than 15 amps through it which you should not. It looks like the receptacle on the Yamaha 2400 is a nema20. Try to get a 20 amp to 30 amp adapter. It's the one where one of the prongs is sideways.

Hmmm.....I never felt the adapter cord on my EF2400is......maybe I should check that out.

Make sure that all other 120 volt loads are off, including the fridge which should be on gas only.
