I had my dealer bypass the entire unit because I thought it was in a bad spot, but twisty yours is down right nasty. Maybe you should do the same as I did, my dealer did it for free so it was pretty painless.

I'm going to call them tomorrow and ask if they will remove it for me.

Went by the dealer today to pick up a new marker light and asked about getting the filter removed. The tech said that they would do it for the cost of the fittings! Sweeet!!

...also asked them about switching the pump to the back and the filter to the front today...
They're going to call with an estimate if they need to charge for it.
