Jensen 19" HDTV

We have a 2011 SV264 and cannot get a decent picture anywhere unless we are on cable. Does anyone know if the tv that came with these units is digital. I have looked in the booklet, but I can't find anywhere that it is or isn't.......

Do you have a power antenna button on one of the inputs near the TV(s)? Also did you reprogram the input on the TV to be Antenna vs. Cable?

Tks, yes, I make sure the antenna is energized and it's set to "air".

Okay, I am afraid to ask this, but did you try rotating the antenna on the roof? Sorry, but I had to ask? ;-)

Hey, don't be sorry. The antenna is a Winegard. It is a stationary antenna, it doesn't rotate or raise and lower......

Ok, I won't. Are your sure that it is not rotational? I know the Jack brands are 360 rotational with just two fingers. They also don't go up and down and look the same as yours. I got to believe there has to be some way to point the antenna at the signal. But I have been wrong before.

A few things to rule out:

- How close are you to signals? Use TV Fool to find out. You need something within 20 miles to get a good digital signal.
- Is the TV on "Antenna" mode, and not cable?
- Define "cannot get a decent picture." With most signals being digital; it should be an all or nothing situation.

Our 220 has an antennae booster in the cabinet under the TV that I probably wouldn't have seen if the dealer didn't tell me about it. Turning that on makes a huge difference. Maybe you have one too?

We have that same antenna. I find that the air conditioner can completely block the signal. The antenna is stationary, does not raise, lower or rotate. It's worthless unless you have direct line of sight to a tower. HD signals are far harder to pick up then analog and going to this antenna was a poor choice. They look sleek, but perform terrible. Your Jensen TV is a great digital TV made to tougher standards for the beating it takes in a moving vehicle. It's not your TV, it's the dumb antenna they used. Why they didn't just go to a Jack is beyond me!

UPDATE: The problem with my tv reception was with the antenna. Apparently the circuit board in the head was toast. Must have been that way since day 1. I had purchased the FR second year warranty so they will be paying $56 and change for the part and one hour labour. So I don't have to go thru with this again, i'm having a Jack put in instead. The rv guy said the antenna I have is discontinued anyway...........

Am glad you were able to get it resolved and getting a "better" antenna. Was concerned that all of our "input" was for not. Happy Camping!!!

Turns out it wasn't just the antenna. The tv still doesn't receive digital signals. Contacted the manufacturer, ASA Electronics and was very optimistic I could get the tv replaced but, even though the tv didn't work since day one, didn't matter. Apparently the warranty is 12 months and no more. The first lady I spoke to said it probably wouldn't be a problem because they like to extend the warranty for a few months as a customer service, but the last lady that was spoken to must have been having a really bad day, because apparently she was short and sharp and said 12 months means 12 months, can't help you. Lovely. I took delivery of my trailer at the end of March 2011. Crapola

I represent ASA Electronics, the producer of the JENSEN brand of televisions, stereos, and speakers, Voyager brand of observation monitors and cameras and the Advent brand of appliances. At ASA, we strive to provide excellent customer service and product satisfaction and would like to offer some assistance in this matter.

I would like to apologize for the conflicting information you received regarding the warranty coverage on your JENSEN TV. We do offer our customers a grace period to allow reasonable time for end-users to coordinate warranty repairs with their servicing dealer. Based on your information noted above, it would appear you would still be under that grace period. Please contact me direct via private message here with your contact information and I will have one of our representatives contact you to process your warranty claim.

We look forward to hearing from you.

I did not receive the private message. If it is more convenient for you, feel free to call our Technical Service department at 877-845-8750 (M-F, 8:00AM to 6:00PM EDT). I'll pass this topic on so they are aware, in case you call in.

As it stands now, I will be contacting ASA when I get home in august and they will arrange to ship me a new tv. They have been just fantastic and as of now, I would pick them over another company because as far as I am concerned, if everything transpires as I feel it will, they really stand behind their products. It is so very nice to see in this day and age. I will keep you all posted..........

Well, here I am again. Got home from vacation and called ASA Electronics Customer Service and they are as advertised. My brand new replacement TV arrived today. I can't say enough about how easy they were to deal with and obviously stand behind their products. I would not hesitate for a millisecond to purchase their products or recommend them to friends or family. I am happy as a clam......Thanks JensenRVDirect, you're awesome....
