LED Interior Push Button Lights TOO Bright
The lights in our Surveyor 247BHDS are too bright, white and cast a "sterile" light. The same lights are above the main bed and are too bright to read by while lying under them. I've seen some mention of inserts, etc. to dim but no idea where to look for them. I also read somewhere (but can no longer find the post), where owner spray painted the inside of the covers. But with what color? Looking for idea's and suggestions on how to dim the brightness of lights. From what I understand, my husband says the bulbs aren't replaceable. Thanks for any input.

We also have the 247BHDS (2017 model) and found the led lights above the queen bed to be too bright. We want to use them more as reading lights. The rest of the lights we don't have a problem with. For the "reading" lights we tried adding parchment paper inside the cover and that didn't help anything. Next i put a brown paper bag (lunch bag not grocery bag type) insert in the cover and that helped to bring the light to a more tolerable level. I was a little worried about starting a fire though so i pulled the paper bags out. They never seemed to get too hot but i really didn't want to chance it. I will be looking for a less bright replacement fixture in the future. Haven't looked too hard yet though.

Can either of you post pictures of the lights?
There was mention of using photographic gels to darken and change the color of the lights in a thread the other day.

Here's what I did.
Pulled the light apart and added a small amber LED strip (motorcycle turn signal) to my fixture. Also installed a toggle switch so I can use either the amber color strip or the original bright LED. Works great above the bed!

I agree, these lights are way too bright. I wish there were a way to reduce their brightness. In my old incandescent lights I just removed one of the bulbs.

You could always wire one of *THESE* inline to dim them.

Hmmmm..... . Would one of these be installed behind each fixture?

Thanks 5picker. I installed 2 of these over the queen bed this weekend and they work great. I was worried that i would need to use the remote to dim them every time we turn them on, but they seem to remember their last setting.

I came across this
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...A3H1S8HVHBGDBK
I was wondering if this was the same thing? Also I saw a video awhile back that said if you install the dimmer on the first light in the circuit it'll control all the lights down the line. If that's the case how do you know which light is first on the circuit?

Looks like those should work, they seem to have the same specs as what I put in. I did need to put 1 controller behind each light, they are probably wired in parallel.
Good luck!

The dimmer is also to be wired in parallel. If you find the first light and wire the dimmer before the light it should be able to operate both as long as the total amps used by the lights doesn't exceed the rated amps of the dimmer. If the lights are wired in parallel then both lights are most likely wired with pigtails attached to the supply wires. Don't wire into the pigtail which is most likely what you did. Wire into the supply lines.
Now, if the supply lines continue on to other lights it will effect all lights downstream.

LED Interior Push Button Lights TOO Bright
I use photographic gel. Amber to change the color of the light and neutral density to reduce the amount of light. We selected strategic fixtures for "ambiance " and left the rest for max lighting.

Where can you find photographic gel? Joann's or a craft shop?

That was brilliant land. Totally forgot that product that is used on camera lenses. Did you paint it on the LED's themselves then or on the back of the light lens covers? I was just talking about the coldness of the led lighting tonight. And getting dimmers. But this solves the entire issue.

Why not wire into the pigtail? Is it a safety/functionality concern that will interfere with proper operation of the lighting system, or a convenience type issue of needing to use 2 dimmers and 2 remotes (1 for each light)? Thanks.
