Our dealer ordered it from the factory for us. This was back in 2010. The cool thing about it is that it has the Surveyor compass embossed on it (debossed, actually). I will post a closeup photo of it when mine comes back from the shop in about two weeks. It would be really cool if you could get a black one. Thought about painting mine but everyone said even with Krylon paint it would scratch and peel and look terrible. That thing cost me close to $100 back in 2010.

Be careful if you have the dealer do it. There are a number of different materials that are used. I wanted a rock guard material for my old camper and found that materials range from true diamond plate to a plastic look alike that is glued on. i ended up finding diamond plate in the color I wanted and had a local machine shop bend the radius slightly smaller than the template I gave them. A few self tapping machine screws and a boat load of silicone adhesive and the job was done right at a fraction of the cost.

surveyor cover

mjones12,
Hi!
Looking forward to your cover coming back. I have been giving some thought to having a dustom spare tire cover made from some outfit on the internet with some kind of compass design on it; I didn't know FR had their own at one time. If it looks good I will pursue the design from there or peruse ebay for one.
The picture is of my first attempt at customizing my spare tire cover; that decal just peeled on off there after a couple of days in the sun. I would rather have some FR design anyway.
Thanks!
Pete

I love that Keep on Truckin' decal. Reminds me of the Sixties. Anyway, I'll probably be able to get a photo of the hard plastic cover within a week or so.

Congratulations. We purchase our 2012 Surveyor SP220 in February of 2012 and love it. Have made several modifications, but overall very pleased. I agree with PT1655 on trying it out before deciding what you would like to change.

We have been on the road with our SP220 for over 4 months last year and heading out in another week for a 4+ month trip across country (Oregon to NE to Florida and back to Oregon in December).
