Didn't get it untill late last year and only had a chance to use it a few times, but did go for about a 600 mile round trip with it. I had zero issues with it.
I went with the 296 because of the kitchen design, the wife had a lot of input on it also.....trailer is beautiful and suits are family great. The only thing I don't care for is the way the remote works for the tv when you turn the tv to the bedroom side, but I can live with it. I hope whatever you decide works for you.
Which make WDH are you using?

I pull my SV-264 with an F-150 (5.0). No problems pulling, and no problems with the trailer that I didn't cause... I think Forest River is as good a manufacturer as any, and better than some.

I have the 321 and pull it with a 2012 F150 EB.

The trailer - hands down, awesome!!!! We love it, roomy, comfortable, nice interior. Aside from the electronic keypad lock no issues (so far)

The tow - I have not had any issues towing the trailer with my EB. Up and down grades between IE and San Diego in Ca without issue. Trucks passing I do feel some sway but it really is negligible. No problem getting up steep grades that big rigs have problems with.

I have a 296 too- the TV remote thing is a pain. I know exactly what your talking about. They needed a better design on that.

How did the tv become an issue?
Everyone knows better than others and will attempt to tell them anytime they get a chance

i have a 2012 sv305 bought it new no real problems. a few recalls dealer took care of them. i love the trailer and would buy another forest river any day. that being said the last two years the only travel it did was to and from the cg sesonal site and the dealer. this year a lot of travel planned.no sesonal site. new gf so time to travel. but again the trailer has been great so far.
