Smile Newbie needs help!

I went to the RV show over the weekend and fell in love with the 26ft Surveyor Select (10th Anniversary). Great show price, great dealer et al. I left the show and started to do research on the Forest River products and immediately stopped my shopping. There was a large number 'shoddy' construction posts (in various places in the internet) and even more "they dont stand behind their product/warranty" type posts. Even the BBB in my area registered 37 complaints.

The dealer said - yes, products built in the Indiana plant have had issues. Products built in Oregon less so. Management change at the company in the past year or two also helped increase quality. (They really stood behind the company but were very honest about prior issues)

SO, im here to ask all of you. No single RV company is perfect. Nor can i expect them to be. But Im making a big purchase, and I just dont want to feel left out in the cold. Is this a reliable company? Do they stand behind their products? Is there any concerns I should have?

Thanks everyone for my somewhat pointed request.

IMO your only seeing the bad things people post online to vent .
IVE owned 2 forest river products in the last 7 years with only minor issues. ALL COVERED under warranty and no issues getting ANYTHING covered .
very seldom do people come on the forums REALLY to say how great there unit is .
they have come to b**** or complain . IF you read 500 complaints of a forest river product then you HAVENT read about the 10',s of thousands that are happy and have a great unit .
ALL manufactures have issues in one way shape or form . IF someone tells you different there lying !

I hope you find what your looking for and are happy with what you receive !
post what you get .

ps welcome to the forum !

We had several issues with a Forest River PUP we bought when we lived in western Washington. (So it was made in the Oregon plant) I did, however buy another Forest River product because of how great Forest River was at fixing the problems. It also seems through here that the quality has been improving over the years.

And yes I agree with turbo (And not only because I am an Iowa Native) that the internet is where everyone goes to vent about how bad something is, Nobody ever feels the need to go online and say everything is perfectly fine and I am happy with what I have.

I bought our motorhome used. I had problems the last trip. I sent FR an email and they reply back very quick. They sent me replacement parts free. I could of also brought the unit back to the dealer for the repairs but chose to do it myself because dealer is about 6 hours away round trip.

I am on my second Forest River Product, prior to that I had a Sprinter, and a Coleman Pop Up(when it was still Coleman). I had more issues with the Spr.. than either of the other a Sunseeker and now a Georgetown XL. I also do not have that smell (formeldehyde) as I enter the unit.

Everyone has issues, but they stand behind the products and are improving as they go.

Of course as previously said very few places to praise a product..but quite a few to vent at issues.

We purchased our SP-260 new last year and the only problem we have had with it is that we don't get out enough in it.
