No more Surveyor Select?

I just checked out the Forest River website, and when looking at the Surveyor models, it looks like they have replaced the "Select" models with the "pilot" series. No more "Vista Lounge". Too bad. We love our SV 301. Now it will be a dinosaur!

I just looked at the site, and all the SV designations are on the Pilot series... Looks like you're right... no more Select series. I do like some of the floor plans, though...

We love are SV 305. Was looking last week and seen the new SV floor plans. We like a couple of them. Wish they would have had them when we got are SV 305.

Later,

John

X2 for the SV-305... I have been looking for others as I always do! Buy something new and then ponder trading it within the year... .... regardless haven't found anything I like better than ours minus Ependydad's entire rig!

Love our 305 as well. A few minor problems but after prodding the dealer they fixed. I'm working on a mod list now...it is the perfect setup for us.

Having been a product marketing manager with a major corporation, it blows my mind how many different RV models are offered. Costs to a company reduce as you reduce products/offerings. Looks like the RV industry would figure this out and reduce some models and just offer more options for the key remaining products. Example: Sierra and Sandpiper are pretty much the same product with some different options and levels of options. Cut one of the brands, offer the options on the remaining brand and reduce lots of costs. Or maybe they have figured it out and cutting the Surveyor Select is part of their effort.

They done away with the Surveyor Select and added the Surveyor Pilot.

So they really didn't do away with a line of RV's.

John

I just looked at the dealer's website where I got mine a couple of years ago. He has a 2014 Surveyor SV-264... and I don't think it was a Pilot series trailer. I believe it said Sport on it somewhere. Anyway, it was on axles and not independent suspension, and didn't look as nicely appointer as mine. It is prices a couple of thousands less than I paid for mine, so I guess it isn't a Select model, even though he had it listed as such. Go figger... ???

PS: I just looked again and it's definitely a Sport. It's listed as a Surveyor 264 without the SV- in front of it. It doesn't have power jacks and some of the other stuff. I actually would like the scissor jacks it had better than my power feet... they don't steady it much...

Yes they just moved the SV264 over to the Sport line up. Exact floor plan. You no longer get the gelcoat skin and it has R7 instead of R9 in the walls. Not sure if the underbelly is heated and enclosed anymore either. It says "selected models"
Glad that I got my SV264 when it still had the premium features
