Question Pricing & weight on the 235 and 255

We are "waffling" between a 235 and a 255 and are also looking for the best price.

For either unit, I've got a price around $20k out the door (including ttl).

We're not sure whether we want the 255 with the quad bunks (we have 3 boys (4,6,10) or do we want to save 500lbs and put them on the double bunks in the 235?

I drive a 1/2 ton suburban so I think we can handle the 4,300 on the 255 even when we load up.

Any opinions or knowledge about prices would be appreciated.

to FRF!!

If your Suburban can pull it... I'd go with the 255 because of the bunks. Those boys aren't going to want to share.

Greg,

An aerolite deal just came up with similar floorplans. Do you know of the major differences? Enough to justify a $4,000 difference in price?

I have no knowledge of these rigs. I was just speaking to the bunking situation. $4k is a pretty big difference.

Hello-

We looked at the 255RS which is what I think you mean. Don't know if you are near Maryland but when we were looking Brooks Ramsey RV had a 2006 (still new) that they had for just under $12K on special. I dont know if it is still available, but it was nice.

255rs

I have a 255RS, and have enjoyed it a lot. I am actually going to post it for sale, as a tragedy in the family has forced the sale. It's a 2008, fully loaded with all the upgrades, If interested, please respond to the post.
I have 3 boys, and the quad bunks have paid major dividends, while the wife and I have out own little place too. Since the weight difference isnt that much, I would recommen the 255 over the 235 as the featurs and extra bunk, along with the additional storage room, makes it so worth the investment.

I owned an Aerolite Trailer. It's was a nice trailer, but nowhere near the build quality of a FR brand. Of course, 4K is a very huge savings.

Aerolite

He probably meant the Aerolite was $4K more than the FR???? I have a 2011 235 - haven't gotten out in it much so far - got a great deal at Couch's RV Nation. My Tundra tows it flawlessly and the Equalizer E2 Hitch is apparently perfect for this unit. If you go to Couch's, be sure to say I sent you!!!! I did have to wait about 8 weeks for the unit to be built and delivered to Couch's.
