Propane Use

Most of the time I've spent in my SV-264 was in the summer, when I spent 7 weeks in it while looking for a new home. During that time I used about 3/4 of a 20# bottle. I was up at Broken Bow, Oklahoma for a week with full bottles and drained both bottles in 5 nights... I had to get a grill bottle in town that evening to keep from getting cold... I had my outdoor grill hooked up and the gas turned on to it the whole time. I replaced the gas valve under the trailer right before the trip, and pressure tested it. I am just wondering if that sounds normal or is that grill/hose fitting thing something I shouldn't have left hooked up, and should suspect. It was about 45 - 50 in the daytime and about 28 - 30 each night...

Opinions/experiences welcomed... Thanks...

Jack

If you have NO leak (Propane),your furnace is doing its job. They use lots of Propane. PS are the doors & windows closed? Youroo!!

Your biggest propane draw would be your furnace, If you were running the furnace at night that would do it easy. I can camp just about all summer with 2 tanks easy. But then if I use the furnace as I had to during about 3 days of 30 degree weather. I just had both tanks filled before I left Florida, I was surprised that I was out in 1 tank after 3 days only when we had that ice storm on the way back to Virginia. I used the heater very little but needed to take the chill out before my electric 1500 watt would take over. But it will suck your propane down fast. Sounds normal to me.

Thanks for the replies... no gas smell... Now I'll have a spare 20# bottle with me, so it wasn't all bad.
