Radio, CD, DVD player...

As we were playing around with the sp220 in the backyard continuing to prepare for our maiden voyage, we decided to play with the dvd player. It worked and all was good until I realized that it appears you can't watch a dvd and have the radio playing at the same time. I tend to go to bed first and my boyfriend likes to sit around the fire. I planned on popping in a dvd to fall asleep to while he sat around the fire and listened to the radio on low. Guess it won't work that way. Can anyone confirm or give me a workaround? Thanks!

Pretty sure you can't do that. The system will only provide one output at a time.

Not sure what system is in your TT. Can you use a personal DVD player and plug into the accessory jacks on the Tv? You would then hear the sound direct from the Tv and the radio output to the stereo system. (assuming you have external speakers)

Yeah, it's pretty much a one way device.
It can only handle one task at a time.

Suggest getting your boyfriend a personal MP3 player with FM radio and some
ear buds. That way he can listen as loud as he wants and not disturb you or
the neighbors. Aren't many new cell phones MP3 players with radios??

Maybe he just needs "an app for that"!!

Happy Camping!

I can watch tv and listen to it through the tv speakers while the radio is playing outside because the tv is not using the audio system. The minute that dvd goes in then the tv is using the audio system and I have to choose, radio or dvd. if I got any channels just by using the antenna then it wouldn't be a big deal but I can't fall asleep to pbs!

you can watch over the air tv,cable or sat. on tv and listen to radio outside if you wish but not dvd and radio at the same time .
you either a have to get a portable dvd player and run through jacks
or b get an ipod or the like and listen with headphones .

Does the radio in the Surveyor have bluetooth? I believe the new Rockwoods do and I would like to sync my phone with the sound system so I can play music straight from my phone without having a cord on it.

It's one system. That's one of the reasons we added a second flatscreen with it's own DVD player on the wall in the bedroom.

Buy a usb memory stick and download all your songs to that and then plug that into your usb port then you have your phone free to play words with friends or angry birds or something !
