Some maintenance questions

Hi,
I have a 2006 Surveyor SV255RS, I would like some guidelines on a few things please:

-Checking the seals and re-sealing for the summer season. I think I can handle around the lights and wheels, but whats the best way/products to check/seal the roof?

-How do I grease the bearings? I pop off that white wheel cap in the middle of the wheel, then what?

I also have a question regarding the metal slide above the slideout bed. Anyone know what it's for? it looks like you attach something in there to cover the slideout when it's out. I just noticed it.

Thanks!
-EG

A photo of the "metal slide" would be helpful.

Here is some attached info on bearings and repacks.

Lots of threads here on roof maintenance; you can search in the green box using roof treatment.

That is an awning rail that is built in to the rain drip rail over the bed slide out. And if you were wondering, as far as I know and have been able to find out, no one makes a slide out awning large enough to fit the rear bed slide out. the rail is there mainly for a rain drip rail.
