Question SP-260 or SP-280

My 2006 Salem 26BH was recently sideswiped by an oncomming class c motorhome and it was totaled. I'm looking for a replacement and I like the Surveyor line of trailers. I'm considering either the 2012 or 2013 SP-260 or SP-280.

I've seen a wide range of prices for new units at dealers ranging from just under 18k to 24k.

I'd like to find out what invoice is so I can better negtotiate but haven't had luck. Can anyone tell me where I might find invoice pricing for Surveyors? Is it even published?

Also, I'm wondering if anyone can let me know about what they paid or what I should expect to pay for one of these units.

Any advice is much appreicated.

Thanks!

We purchslased a 2013 SP240 and paid 21500. Most dealers wanted 23 or 24 thousand. But had an offer from the guy in Ohio for 19995. We went with the local guy (45 miles from us) because service after the sale hope this helps.

The colder it gets, the better the deal, so if you can wait until winter, you can save the most.

Ask the dealer for the MSRP. Start off with offering 30% less, and go from there.

Do an internet search. Deals can be found. Then use those deals to get the best price with your local dealer.

Be careful that the options are the same in both cases.

Country Roads RV (crrvc.com) is a "no haggle" dealer and always displays their sale prices. Looks like they have a 260 for about $19,500 and a 280 for about $21,350. It gives some price points and my experience is that they are a good reputable dealer.

The sticker on my 280 was $20,995; purchased it in Feb of this year. I'm sure the price varies with location as well.

I have seen these models at $19k and $20k for 2012 models with some options. I am considering a sv291 for the larger sized bunks. Good luck in your search!

If considering the 2012, make sure you check the lp line and the suspension system.

We bought a 2012 SP260 and paid $19.5k. Very happy with it, though the counter top is splitting and needs to be replaced. Hopefully warranty won't be a hassle. Otherwise we're happy with it.
