Surveyor 220 mods

Well, here I am with obviously too much time on my hands.

Refresh my memory; black surfaces hold heat in and are hotter than white surfaces which reflect heat, namely, the sun's rays.

So, I can't see why Forest River put black refridgerator vent covers and a/c covers on my 2013 Surveyor 220. Wouldn't those black covers retain heat and make the fridge and a/c work harder?

So, naturally, I took both covers off, prepped them and painted them flat white with a good plastic/primer spray paint. I am hoping this mod will help both the fridge and a/c work a little more efficiently.

I hope to put a fan in the refer cavity on the outside of the trailer but geez there is so little room in there. Maybe up top of the vent stack as there seems to be a lot of room up there. If I could afford it I would put one of those ARP fridge controllers on there too, maybe later as funds allow.

Have fun camping and modifiying!
