Surveyor 235RKS de-lamination

I have a 2009 235RKS and about a month ago I noticed what appears to be
de-lamination on the bottom corners of the rear slide. I check the seal around the slide and it appears to be in excellent condition. Could this be caused by something other than water penetration and is it something I should be concerned about. I have attached photo's.

It's hard to tell exactly what caused the de-lam. FR did have a problem with the Lamination process at one time or another. The only way to tell the source of the de-lamination is to explore the area. With that said, it's best to contact the dealer about the situation.

It's best that you get the trailer to your dealer. Let them check it out, document everything and contact Forest River.

we also have a 2009 235rks and also had the same thing happen to us . it was coulded by the white sealing tape on the top of the side and water got in and did the same thing to owers so we called the dealer and fr. so thay repladed the hole rear side with a new one. things happen now and then as long fr they do what's right i have no problem.

Our '08 255RS did the same exact thing. I retaped the top of the slide (Later I did all the roof seams and edges) with the Eternabond Tape. But some day I would like to replace the rear slide wall. We bought ours used, out of state from a couple 8 mos after they bought it new. So taking it to a dealer is not an option.

Too answer should you be worried, just keep in mind the value for trade or re-sale has just taken a dive most likely by thousands of dollars.

I am told that campers on the average drop about $1500 to $2000 bucks a year, so when you subtract for delam it drops even more.

I just picked up my trailer after having the de-lamination fixed. This was created do to an error during manufacturing. There wasn't any sealant applied to under the trim resulting in moisture entering and causing the paper thin backing separating from the outer shell.

I've seen this happen on a 2009 235RKS but the dealer made good on it and replaced the slideout completely.
