Surveyor SCT321BHTS

We've probably looked at 50 TTs this year and, I think, we found one that DW and I are both in love with, a 2014 Surveyor SCT321BHTS.

We like the looks, the interior colors (VERY important to DW) are good, it meets all of our needs AND wants. Anyone have experience with the Surveyor line? I know they have a number of hybrids/expendables and I have seen that people are very happy with those.

Any concerns on the Surveyor line?

I'm looking about $29k for it, seems to be a tad lower than the rest of them out there so it feels like a good deal.

We've had two Surveyor Sport models and loved both of them. One we had for three years, and the latest is almost a year old. Never a real problem with either of them, other than a few minor, easily fixed glitches that most new trailers seem to have.

We make it a point to camp at least once a month, and both trailers have held up very well. We have been very pleased.

We have a 2013 Surveyor SP296. Last year was our first season with it. Camped 32 nights and didn't have any major issues.

We have a Surveyor sv305, since March '13. No mayor problems, hum, may be one, leak. Now it's only the 'darned' rv curtains, (two stock in the down position) it's probably an easy fix, just too busy to work on it. One of the rubber seals from the slides got loose from the screws that keep them attached to the wall, Also a warranty fixed job.
Did have a small leak in the roof/front cap joint that developed few months after we got it but it was fixed by Lazydays / FR and my pocket (50% of the cost) it was a used camper. (2013)
So far it's been ok and we camp one weekend a month throughout the year and two full weeks on vacations/spring break time. family of 5.

Thanks everyone for your replies! Im starting to feel pretty good about this one! Hoping the price really is the best I can get. I did find one at Couch's in Ohio for like $27.5k but it would cost me $3k to have it shipped. This is the best price within 2,000 miles of me so I'm pretty comfortable.

Excited and a little nervous. We pick the trailer up in 5 hours! Been a while since I towed something this large so I'll be taking it very easy on the drive home. Aside from taking it slow and wide, any pointers from the experienced crowd here? I got them to throw in the Equalizer hitch so that will definitely help with my confidence lol

We picked the trailer up. One issue with the door handle and that was it, went very smooth and towed great on the way home. Trailer is awesome and we're looking forward to our first trip in 2 weeks.

Time to get shopping for all the gear for it!!!

Aside from the door lock not working correctly (deadbolt still works) I have had no problems. I can tell you that what you'll find on the internet is a very small sampling of Surveyor owners (or any other brand).

The quality of materials and craftsmanship, we found, is superior to most brands in the price range (even a number of other FR brands).

I STRONGLY recommend the Surveyor, especially the SC321BHTS

Surveyor Cadet VS. Surveyor Sport

Was looking at this model online. Thinking about up-sizing from a Surveyor Sport SP-295 (single slide out)...

Have you had any major issues so far?

Also, how does your F-150 pull it? (Assuming you have a weight dist. hitch/sway bars and electric brakes.)

Anyone know the major differences between the Sport and Cadet models? Are the walls thinner (R7 vs R9), etc.?

Thanks!

I have had a couple of issues.

First was a bad wire from the Jensen head unit to the TV, and the Bauer door handle is bad.

Second is I had 2 lines rub together in the A/C unit and leaked coolant so my A/C is currently not working.

Both of these issues should be easy to have fixed under warranty but the dealer is being ridiculous to deal with and it is probably a couple months out to get them repaired.

As far as the F150 pulling it I have zero issues. I have the Max-Tow package and the 3.73 Rear End along with the Eco Boost and it pulls great. Utilizing the Equal-i-zer and couldn't be happier.

Thanks for the update. I have the tow package on my Tundra with the 4.1 Rear End, as well as a Curt weight distribution and sway control. May get a second sway control... my currenst SP-295 is like a sail in the Oklahoma wind.

bought a brand new surveyor cadet 321. first trip out, my son took it to Koa at South Padre Island,tx. the air conditioner quit working and the slide out did not work properly, tore the carpet! now this is a brand new trailer!! I found a mobil RV service, that said he would replace the AC for a new 1, the AC is under warranty, all you pay is the service fee, you don't have to go through the dealer you bought your RV from. your AC is made by Dometic, you have to deal with them, not with your dealer. Forest River products are not reliable!!

We, unfortunately, are very limited on options for repair in our area. Dometic had a number of authorized repair techs listed and most were defunct dealers. The only other option was a used dealership that was rated much worse than my dealer. I did get a hold of the Service Manager who told me to bring it in Friday and he'd make sure all work was completed
