Surveyor SP275

Hi everybody:
I just bought a 2011 Surveyor SP275 the first of August. I really love the floor plan, especially the big bathroom. I wish that it had ducted A/C but that is the only thing I don't like about it. I looked for several months at different trailers with similar floor plans but with everyone of them there was something I didn't like. The nearest dealer (65 miles away) did not have a SP275 so I ended up going 230 miles away to get one. We took a trip to Hot Springs Arkansas 3 weeks ago. The Surveyor is about 1400 pounds heavy than my old Trail Cruiser but my truck did ok. The engine temp climbed up about 30 degrees going up a couple of hills in Arkansas, but backing out of the throttle returned the temp to normal. The outside temp was 104 which didn't help at all.

Welcome lonestar, I am also new to the forums, I have had my 280bh for a couple of weeks now. My wife had to have bunks so that was that (Happy wife happy life!)

Welcome! I saw a 275 on our last trip. Nice unit. I think you will like your Surveyor. Our has been a very good unit.

Picking ours up this Saturday (a new 2010 SP-275). We will travel about 250 miles from the San Fernando Valley area of California to Los Banos to pick it up, then off to Monterey Bay for our first night out. Can't wait. This is a step up from the popup camper that we have used for years.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the forum. In case you read or saw my last post, don't freak out just make sure before your unit is a year old that you take it in and have any concern addressed. We love ours and get a ton of compliments on it also!

I looked in my area (Los Angeles region, I'm in the San Fernando Valley) and research online. I restricted myself to trailers in the 4000lb region. We had to drive to Los Banos, CA which is about 250 miles north. We picked it up and took it to Montery Bay for the 1st night. Loved it. This is our first enclosed trailer (we steped up from a popup). Only problem so far was the trap under the kitchen sink is leaking.

We're thinking of buying a SP275 but I'm worried that it won't be close to the advertised spec of 3985 lbs. Does anyone know what the dry weight of their SP275 really is?

you can usually add around 400lbs. for the normal "options" that aren't included in the "dry" weight. things like: oven, a/c, awning, battery, spare tire, microwave and so on.
mine weighed exactly 400lbs. over the "dry" weight, when it arrived from the factory. that was without battery, propane, water and cargo.

Seems like I remember the 'as built' weight is between 4300 and 4400 lbs. I don't think that includes the battery and LP gas.
