Surveyor Sport Disappointed

The DW and I purchased a New Surveyor Sport 275 from Lazy Days RV in Tampa in June and have only used the unit for one trip had to return early the A/C quit working. So we returned home and called the dealer who was supposed to call us for repairs to Delamination on the front wall noticed at delivery that never happened. It took 1 month to get the unit in the shop and has been there sense it took 2 months to get Forest River to approve the a/c replacement according to the dealer. And now we are going on three months waiting on a new front wall it finally came in last week but it is damaged beyond repair and can not get an answer when a new wall will come in. We have been very patient but they are about to run out had to cancel trips and will be out of warranty by the time we ever get our unit back to use. Just curious if anyone else is having similar problems.

We have an 2013 Surveyor Sport 260 and we have not had any issue like that. We have only had small cosmetic issues that the dealer fixed or I fixed. Good luck with yours, as we have been very happy with ours.

Thanks Buck we love the layout and can't wait to have it repaired so we can head out camping. We usually do most our own minor repairs but had no choice with these items. Just venting out of frustration I hate to be negative or complain.

Not saying that FR has a perfect record but it's somewhat common for dealers to blame FR for delays when the dealer has not even order parts yet. Another common issue is when the owner accepts delivery of a unit that needs fixing. Some owners will wait until the walk-through before signing off on the paperwork.

Hopefully your unit will be fixed and you can start enjoying it again.

I'll never sign paperwork on another one that isn't totally repaired and ready to go. That being said, I've had only minor stuff with mine in 3 years and probably 15 weeks of use. We had a broken kitchen sink, but I caused that... and I replaced it, with a stainless steel unit.

I think it has a lot to do with dealer; we bought new Surveyor in 2014 from Three Way Campers in GA and had 2 minor problems. Dealer immediately fixed both, black water sensor not working and rain water leaking into underbelly due to poor sealing job at factory. Three Way told me they reseal all arriving campers due to water problem in underbelly; rain water runs down side of camper and seeps in lip at bottom. Just had to put thin bead of silicone around lip at bottom.

Just got quotes on maintenance required to keep Forever Warranty valid and Three Way had best price and best service.

Good dealer means everything on RV repairs.

You may want to try another dealer.

My last one was Bison RV in Clovis, NM. They were actually pretty good. I did have to rewire the electric tongue jack when I got it home, just because the job was messy. I wouldn't hesitate to go back there, because they have a good reputation. It's a bit far since I moved back to the D/FW Area. I'd never go back to Jack Sizemore in Amarillo, for anything... There are good dealers and bad, just like car dealers... but they're all dealers...
