Surveyor Sport Questions?

Has anybody taken delivery of a surveyor sport 2010 model lately? I was wondering if anyone knew if Forest River changed the specs. Standard features list Fantastic Fan, outside shower, sink & stove covers, good year tires, torsion axles. My unit did not come with any of these. Regular one speed fan, no outside shower, no sink or stove covers, Towmax tires & leaf spring axles. Dealer told me the sports come with different options than the regular model surveyors now. Wish I knew that before I ordered. Is this true? The only thing listed on Forest River website and the brochure is the Sport does not have an enclosed heated basement. I ordered the interior and exterior luxury packages and have everything else that goes with them. Do not get me wrong I like the camper but the reason I ordered the surveyor was because of the extras. I hope the walls have the full framing around the doors and windows. I will try to call Forest River to clear things up. But if anyone has any answers in the meantime I would appreciate it.

I live in ontario canada. the local dealer has these "sport" models in stock. From what I can see they are stripped down surveyors (i.e. no torsion suspension, no enclosed underbelly - this is what I noticed looking at the outside of the trailer) that are at a lower price point??? I hope so at least, seeing how I already own a 235 rks I did not check into the pricing. The one I was looking at was the surveyor 291 layout called a 280BH, minus the stuff I mentioned. I hope that you weren't lead down the wrong path when you bought your trailer. The suspension, enclosed underbelly etc. are what makes the surveyor line ( not "sport") a better product. I looked on their website and it does NOT state these differences... (that I could find) Like I said, the 280bh I saw was the same layout as the 291 only without the suspension and enclosed underbelly.

maybe the one I saw was totally stripped down?

take care,

Yes this is the case, I too bought a 280 sport and thought that it had those options but it didn't, but I still love the trailer as it is, just got back from an eight night vacation and had no issues, and everybody was looking at my aluminum rims not my towmaster tires

I did not mean to offend anyone with a "sport" model. I just think the differences are substantial and would hope that a dealer would point them out to a customer BEFORE they bought. Me personally, I would choose the traditional surveyor over the sport for the differences in the suspension and tires alone. Again, this is only my opinion. Anyone that owns any type of trailer is O.K. in my books! Of course, R.V.ers are included also!

cheers,

In 07 you could get a "base" model or a Luxury package. There wasn't a Sport version. They had already dropped the Grand Surveyor, there was just Surveyors.
