Smile Surveyor SV-264 vs Jayco 24RKS

We're considering moving to a TT after years of a pop-up and are considering the 264 vs the Jayco 24RKS. Floor plans are almost identical. The Surveyor is a bit more expensive. Our SUV has a limit of 6500# and both of these with options are 4700-4900# dry so either looks OK although the Surveyor is lighter. Another website rated Forest River and Jayco equally overall but not model specific.

We've been told the fiberglass is tougher then aluminum, but aluminum easier to repair. Jayco maintainence on axles seem real easy. It seems like a push on the decision and any thoughts would be appreciated.

We have a Surveyor 235RKS. What I like about it, from a technical perspective, is enclosed underbelly, torsion axles, easy-lube hubs, and a low drip-rail height. Our trailer is only 8.5 feet at the drip-rail. This makes for very nice towing. Lower center of gravity and pushes less wind. I'm not familiar with Jayco. Everyone that has them seems to like them. Our Surveyor has been very good from a quality perspective. Good luck. Either choice is prbably a good one.

Just looked at the Jayco online. It looks to me like the Surveyor has a bigger slideout and a nicer bathroom (better shower). Have fun no matter what you decide!

Welcome to the forum . Just a note on the fiberglass side vs the aluminium sides the fiberglass is a lot easier to clean and keep clean then the aluminium but thats just my opinion and if one has a bigger slide that is a plus too
