Surveyor sv 291
I'll be getting a new sv 291 in about 2 weeks. I want to buy decent generator to carry with me in the back of my Toyota Tundra...
I want something quiet (as possible),not too heavy, with enough wattage to keep the ac going on a hot Texas summer day/night...
I want something good/ efficient without breaking the bank...
What Do you fine Folks suggest???

We pull an SV291 behind our Z-71. We purchased a Champion Generator...
http://www.tractorsupply.com/generat...erator-4434023
$299
Pretty quiet... not as quiet as the $1000 Yamaha, but much quieter than the typical "job site" generators you find at the big box stores.
30A RV Plug right on the front and powers our Trailer during the hottest Texas days.
We don't use it every time, but it is OOOOOO so nice when you need it.

Do yourself and your fellow campers a favor with the noise, and get an inverter generator like the Honda or Yamaha. Our Yamaha EF2400is has run our AC just fine up to 3500' elevation, but with no other electrical draw. You can get a unit for about $1200 online. 2 Honda EU2000s hooked up in parrallel should run the AC and a couple of other electrical appliances, but they cost more than a single EF2400is. And both of these brands being inverter generators will be kinder to your electronics.

Have to agree with you there Mtnguy. Nothing annoys me more than a noisy generator in the campground. Totally destroys the feel of nature that we are all there for.

I agree with you guys.
However... there are many places that you can take your RV that do not involve the outdoor feeling, peace and quiet, etc.
Airshows, Races, Softball and Baseball Tournaments, etc...

honda generator
I would check out Mayberry's out of New Jersey. They sell the Honda generator pretty cheap in the U.S.A. I would be looking at the 3000i for your needs. They will ship anywhere within the country for FREE. Here is the link for the website http://www.mayberrys.biz/html/equipm...generators.php You have to call for a price. I got my 2000i for $899 last year.

Oh yes, now I remember back to nature, with 32 inch plasma tv's, concertcrap surround sound systems, roof air conditioning units, central vacuum systems, dogs barking at screaming unsupervised children riding bicycles in the middle ore wrong side of the road, and then the small children riding electric cars with plastic wheels on pavement, and the guy next door screaming "honey bring me another BEER!". And of course the idling diesel whether it be a truck or a coach. And you're going to let a little generator noise bother you?

Yeah, you gotta wonder why some people bother to leave home. That's why we go to National Forest Service campgrounds. Pit toilets, no showers, no electricity, often no water. THAT gets rid of people who should have stayed home in the first place! ; - )
