SV264 satallite and cable input cover

Bear with me whining a bit here.

Just wanted others to take note of the quality of the cable and satallite input covers on the outside of the trailer. Talk about flimsy. The first time I opened it the covers hinge (just plastic) was already broke in half. Very poor design. I know there are better covers out there... the problem will be to find it in black. The answer my dealer received from Forest River was that they had no intentions of changing the design at this time. They did replace it with a new one.

This is in regards to my 2012 SV264 select.

Anyone else see the where they could have picked a better cover?

Mine is OK, and I have opened it a few times and even used the inputs a couple times. No issues. Sure it could be more rugged, but everything is $$$, and things would add up real fast if FR started adding a little bit more on every part.

This is very minor part, and likley not even used at all by many campers so I doubt this is a concern to FR.

You got it fixed, time to camp.

Hey mine broke on the first use also, the dealer replace it with the same piece of rubbish that was on it, it's a pain that quality is not to important to them, I really like the trailer but some parts are so cheap, I replaced the dinette cushions foam too it was ok for a five year-old but adults were sitting on the plywood it would have cost very little extra to do it at the time of assembly I know I would have paid the extra.

Use pours at most every campground we camp at (KOA typically and all have cable). 3 years later and still going strong.

Here is a picture of the cover installed on the sv264.

I'll let the picture speak for itself as to how long the hinge will last leaving the inputs uncovered and exposed to the elements.

The quality on these is poor but I have not had any trouble with ours. If ours broke I would simply buy a better design and fix it myself, the design on Herks trailer looks good. Taking it to the dealer to replace would be a waste of money on this item

Hey, I know they seem cheap, but on my 5ther all I have is a rubber cup that fits over mine! I looked at replacing mine with a metal outside receptacle cover from Lowe's or Home Depot. They make a double male TV hook-up that fits into a receptacle cover! I have one on my outside pouch and it works great been there about 8 years with no issues. Good luck

The campers I rented had this type and before the year was out, the two rental units at our MWR had all four covers missing.
