SV271 bath tub

Greetings,

We have recently acquired a Surveyor SV271.

the shower / bath tub has what I would call a bench. I'm guessing some people like to shower while sitting.

My question is, does anyone know if there's any structural reason under the bath forcing the tub to have a bench (which is higher than the tub bottom) or I could remove and replace with a normal tub ?

thanks

Simon

Good thing you sent a picture.....pictures always help.

I see an enclosed channel running along the bottom of the wall under the window. It runs from your sink and over to your tub enclosure.

Can you see anything under your sink which indicates what might be in this channel, because it heads under your seat in the tub, and this may be to permit a run of electrical, plumbing, or whatever.

Only you know what lies behind the back wall of the tub, and maybe you see things there too?

the entire bath is raised from the floor bottom in order for a hot air duct to come out. The small channel is there the flex pipe gets under the entire bath, then turns around and there's a grill where hot air gets out.

From the looks of this particular duct, since it's not confined to the "bench" area, I didn't see any reason for this to be a show stopper.

Two of the shower walls (the one you see on the pic) are actually outside walls. The third one is adjacent to the rear beds and this is where all the plumbing is installed.

I might see if I can remove the heating grill and see if I can film what's under the bath with my phone to get a proper answer.

Thanks

Simon
