SV291 lower bunk mattress

We're going through our new to us 29' Surveyor and would like to replace the mattresses. Does anyone know what to call (or better yet...where to get) the oddly shaped lower bunk mattress? All the searching I've turned up so far only nets me rectangular mattresses.

I would think you could stop by a mattress place, pick one and have them cut it to your size. Our SS 260 has the small triple bunks. We have one child, so we took the top bunk out and replaced the mattress with a memory foam one that our son picked. They cut it down and re edged it for us.

Thanks. I'll check into that. I had no idea that was even a possibility. We called the local rv dealer and what they're able to do is basically take the measurements and custom order a mattress from somewhere. I've done a little more research and found several custom mattress makers. The kids are six and eight...I figured they could sleep on a board with no problem but the wife says we've got to get them a mattress.

Ha ha, I can sleep on a board, the wife and son not so much. We viewed the purchase of the camper as a down payment. With regular payments and splurge purchases to outfit the camper. With that said we all sleep much better with the memory foam mattresses. Happy wife and son makes for happy camping.

Sams, Costco, BJ's etc...carry "Tempurpedic" style mattresses for a reasonable cost and can be shaped how you need. Very comfortable too...

We have a local mattress company, here in Southern California, that will make any size mattress you want. They are pretty comfortable.

mattress

We just ordered a queen short on Amazon for a great price. The foam mattess should be easy to cut and shape. I would think.
I got a short queen 9in mattress for $220.

Thanks all. I'm gonna follow your suggestions and go the fake memory foam route. Not sure yet where it'll be from but it looks like I'll be able to get a twin for the top bunk, one queen for the bottom bunk and a queen for our bed for roughly the same as the one mattress from the rv dealer. That's a little more palatable.

I don't know if I am allowed to advertise on this forum, but I have a complete fold down bunk with hardware, a jackknife coach and a dining booth that I removed from my Surveyor 303. With no kids, we didn't need the extra berthing and converted the rear slide to wardrobe and cabinet storage as well as a fold down table top for folding laundry( across from washer/Dryer ) and replaced the booth with a table and chairs. We are very happy with this remodel that suits our life style better. If anyone could use any of this very lightly like new furniture very reasonable$ for a good home), you can reach me at 772-913-4299.
