Sorry guys. I guess I'm going to be a surveyor owner after all.
Your Durango has a short wheel base compared to a 1/2 ton PU so shorter trailers with slideouts will definately tow better with your current setup.

From the floorplans you mentioned you probably have kids so if you are looking at the Aerolite 255KSSL then I'd highly suggest you also look at the Surveyor 235RKS. The length/layout is almost identical except for the dinette slideout on the Aerolite. With one major exception, the Surveyor also weighs 1000lbs less.

I have a Duramax diesel PU myself so I can pull just about anything I feel like, but I still chose to go a bit lighter which saves on fuel, I don't worry at all about sway (yes I do run a sway controller) and it's much easier to park at even challenging camping spaces. Take one for a tow and I'll bet you'll be surprised.
