TV Redo

Hello all 06 264 owners. My question is since the TV space was for older deeper style tv's what have you done to install a flat tv there? Cover the hole up with a filler or some kind of brace? Any thoughts on this are more then welcomed.

No one?

Come on somebody has a 264 with a flatscreen in place of the older style tv. Will post some pics next week so you will have a better idea of what I am looking to do.

The night shift tends to be quiet. Might try posting your pictures or bumping your post during busier periods. Sorry I can't answer your question.

This wont help - I was just in a 10 million dollar mansion and they still had their 4x3 tube TVs built into their kitchen (which is about as big as my whole house) and this place was modern done to the max with infinity pool, floor to ceiling glass walls and a nice glass garage for the lambo

You may be out of luck

A picture of the area would help. What you can do is build a box out of 1/2" oak or plywood and mount it in the hole, then screw on the flat screen wall bracket. That way you can adjust the depth of the TV. Then just screw it in place. Either paint it flat black or stain it, depending on how much will show around the edges of the TV.... Kinda of a false wall, good luck......

Looks a lot like my cousin's tt. They added a TV on an arm mount to the wooden panel next to the wall and like it being lower than the previous position. They using a curtain to keep stuff out of sight in the cubby but a door would look much better.

TV

I like that idea Terier, will have the trailer here next wed so I can measure that panel, thinking a 19 flat screen should fit that space then make a door to cover the opeaning. This trailer does not have a lot of storage space but we love the layout an price was right.

Purchased a door from FR and covered the opening. Mounted the TV on the side of the cabinet. Been this way for about three years, travels mounted, no issues. The side of the cabinet was strong enough to hold it without any additional support. The light fixture keeps the door from fully opening. I installed a stop so the door does not hit the light. It still opens enough to allow access to the useable space (of which there is a LOT!)

How do you secure the TV for traveling?

what you might be able to do is hinge a piece of oak plywood over the open area, and mount the TV on the outside of the wood and leave enough wirier and cable to be able to open the door for access to your space for storage, and it would be secure for travel....

My unit is a rear bed slide, so the TV swings in, with the arm flat to the cabinet side. I place a towel over the arm and it makes contact with the bed opening trim at the top, the arm is bunged tight to the bed trim so it does not move.

Been a few years ago,so I can't remember the name of the place. I ordered it online, and it was less than half the proce for the same thing in the store.

Mod Guy: Love it. I have an additional question? Does it come down easy for winter storage. I heard it's not a good idea to store the flat screens during winter.

Been storing mine in my camper for years yet it still works.
I once hauled a load of tv's that had been in the lot for 8 weeks in sub zero temps.

It would if I took it down, but I never have. We are in North FL, and it does sometimes freeze in the winter (High teens/low 20's). I have not had an issue with it in several years now.
