I bought a small Sony Blu-ray player with WIFI for our TT since the ZX700 Concertone unit couldn't play several newer DVDs the kids wanted to watch (the DVDs are all from DVD/Blu-ray twin packs so I don't know if there is a new technology that the 4 yr old Concertone can't read?). I used an HDMI cable to connect it directly to the Toshiba TV. In my TT there is a counter top below the TV so I just put the Blu-ray player there.

Although better speakers would be nice, I don't want to spend much more on the entertainment system - it's hard enough to keep them away from the technology!

I still have to figure out how to remove the speaker covers so I can verify that the center channel speaker is even hooked up because in surround sound mode, the Concertone won't play the voice track.

There are no "quality" RV entertainment systems.
And they aren't cheap either.
If you want quality, you'll need to look at auto or home quality systems.

upgrading dvd player

I have the Irv 66 in my windjammer, It was an option when I ordered my TT. It is far from a quality entertainment system, also it does not play Blue Ray DVDs.

X2

You have two choices...replace it with a good quality car in-dash DVD head unit or supplement it with separate home-type components.

Ya after alot of research im finding that to be the case ! I bought a 32" Vizio and a Sony Blu-ray player. The wall is sooo thin in the entertainment center that im afraid to mount the tv, I can't find the studs, so I just set the tv on the ledge, and tuck it to bed when traveling. I built a wooden shelf for the dvd player, but again theshelf in the entertainment center is almost to flimisy to hold it. I almost did a bad thing, as I was putting in the slide, and remembered I had not taken down the dvd, and stopped the slide about 1 inch from hitting the the dvd player. Thst would have been a mess to clean up fom

Excuese guys, it just seems that u know a lot about DVD playback issues. I also have a problem about my blue DVD region code. I bought a blue ray DVD in UK days before when there on holidays, after I went backback to Hong Kong, i found that my DVD did not work on my player. I bought this program(http://www.videoconverterfactory.com...-actually.html) from an online shop which claims to change region code. I change my dvd from region code 1 to region code 5, but still not compatible with my DVD player. It just keeps reading.
I tried HandBrake, however, it wouldn't decode any encrypted DVDs, it requires an add-on named libdvdcss.
