Water leak under fridge during rain

Hi all! After owning a pop up for 7 years, our family finally decided to upgrade to a travel trailer. Three weeks ago we purchased a 2013 Surveyor Sport 260bh in seemingly excellent condition from a private owner. Unfortunately, in the first three days we discovered that it leaks during rain.

During any rain, water leaks under the fridge an into the cabinet and out between joints under the fridge unit- which is part of the slide out. We have conducted several experiments with the good ol garden hose over to locate the source. It appears that the water may be coming in through the external fridge vent(s) on the side of the unit. I have re caulked around the vents and around the screws inside the vent, to no avail.

The unit is being taken to a dealer on Monday, but thought maybe some of you veteran campers may have experienced this before and could lend advice?

Here is a shot of the leaking area:

I had a unit about 10 years ago on which the outside access panel for the refrigerator was mounted upside down. It's a long shot, but any chance you could post a close-up photo of the panel?

ID:	79659Thanks for the feedback! Here is a photo of the vent. I do not believe it is upside down.

Ok, I have attempted to fix the orientation of this photo in several different ways, but the picture is upside down. This is the lower vent, the upper is installed in the same manner.

In order for the orientation to be right if pic is taken in portrait mode "phone up and down" you must go into your photos select photo and then crop it .

I'd look at roof vent.
Is it even there?

Then you'll have another vent in the wall such as the first one pictured no?

Yes, there are two. The picture is of the lower one, but the upper is mounted in an identical fashion, but with out the drain tube of course.

Yes, it leaks only in the rain. The fridge is not on, we haven't even taken it anywhere to camp yet. We dry it out between rains and as soon as it rains, it comes right back in. Lucky for us, we've had plenty of rain to test the theory.

More on the way.
I'm south and west of you.

I wonder what the slide out roof and or the roof slide seal looks like.

To the untrained eye, the slide roof and seals all look great. When the slide is in, there does not appear to be any moisture on the top of the slide and seals all appear tight. Caulk looks good.

During today's steady downpours, we've been covering and uncovering suspected areas to test our theories. We're still leaning towards the lower vent as the culprit.
