Water overflowing

The water fill opening has water gurgling out of it. Tank has never been filled. Trailer has always been hooked to outside water supply. This happened the other night after a storm knocked out power to campground well. I turned on pump in camper and some water came out of faucets. Since then it appears the city water is filling the fresh water tank thru a check valve. Question is where is the check valve located and has this happened to anyone else?

Should be two separate systems. If hooked up to city water that is the only source for water your should be getting. If you fill the fresh water tank then that should be the only source. You can over ride by turning off city water.

Is this a new unit? maybe plumb wrong. Later RJD

No this is a 3 year old unit . Just started after I used 12v pump after city water supply was down due to power failure to campground pump. Somewhere there has to be a check valve allowing one or the other to send water to faucets

Check valve is in the pump. Probably just debris from the tank stuck in the valve. Common occurrence.

Disconnect or turn off the water supply from the campground. Open a faucet and turn on the water pump. Allow the water to run for about 30 seconds. Shut off the water pump. Reconnect or turn on water supply from campground. There is a check valve in the pump to keep the city water supply from filling the tank. If the pump is turned on with public water connected, the valve can seat improperly allowing water to flow into the water tank. Doing the above procedure should correct it. Might take one or more trys.

When mine does that I pump all the water out of the fresh tank with the pump... with the gray water valve open. It clears out whatever is in the check valve and empties out the tank, which I've never used for more than 5 gallons for toilet flush while traveling.

Since nothing seems to b working to keep the water out of the fresh water tank, I want to bypass the pump and have the city water bypass pump and go straight to the faucets. I never use the pump as this is a seasonal trailer . Any ideas

Disconnect the outflow side of the pump head and plug the hose. Disconnect power to pump to prevent the pump from flooding that part of the trailer accidently. No water goes from the city water through the pump that way. If you even need to use the pump and fresh tank, just reverse the process, sanitize, and you're back to original.
