Where is everything on a 291
I just brought home my 2010 291 yesterday. I am looking to discover where everything is located on the trailer - water filter, etc. as I have read both here and in person, the manual is useless. Also is does a useful users guide actually exist. I am new at this and things like how to make hot water are a mystery. I bought it at a wholesaler and was told that if i wanted a class on how crap worked I shoud have paid 8000 more in another town.
thanks in advance
Tom

We have a 2007 Sv291. I'm not sure of the changes between the years but any questions that I can answer,I'll be glad to try. My water filter is under the bathroom sink, water pump is under the bath cabinet( false floor in cabinet). I found my winterizing bypass to the pump two weeks ago! Under the pantry! I put a kit next to the pump last year because I wasn't told there was already one in the camper.
So Just ask, I've learned by doing. I'll help if I can.

Let me echo John... we have a 2008 291 and love it. We will also help out with any specific questions you may have.
To turn on the hot water, make sure that you have the propane tanks turned on, then turn on the hot water on the kitchen sink until you have a steady flow of water with no "air spurts". Then, there is a small rocker switch on the face of the cabinets under the kitchen sink to the left. Press the rocker down and a light should come on for a few seconds until the HW heater lights. There you have it!

Also,if you haven't found out already, you can save your propane when connected to Shore power. Your water heater will work off of Electricity. Open outside cover and behind the gas tube, lower left side, is a black rocker switch with a "safety" clip in it. AFTER the heater is FULL pull the pin and flip the switch. Your already paying for the electricity, why waste your propane to heat your water?

Awesome - thanks all I appreciate the help. BTW I did not introduce myself. Sorry about that. I am Tom from Fort Gordon, GA (soon to be Ft Drum, Ny). This is our first camper and we fell in love with the 291 when we saw it. I guess this weekend I will try to find everything. It is too hot inside now, and when I plug in to the house (after awhile) the AC trips 3 circuits - trailer main, gfci in shed and shed circuit in breaker box in house - I did not think there would be that much power issue. Oh well one lesson learned with nothing broken - more to follow.
Thanks again
Tom

Yeah, you have to be careful with where you plug it in at.
A 20AMP circuit is really what you need, provided you don't have a dedicated 30AMP RV circuit.
We just have a 15amp in our garage, so I keep a volt meter plugged into the outlet just to the left of the kitchen Sink. That way I can monitor the Voltage at all times in the trailer. Once it gets below 110 volts I get pretty funky about running the AC.
I also have a voltage booster that scavenges a few amps and will boost the volts to the trailer.

We're lucky enough to be able to keep our camper at some friends home. The last owner had their shop wired for a motor home so we can plug the camper in, run the A/C, connect to the water at the shop, and use our camper if we ever decide to stay over and not drive back to the house. We can even use our portable tote and empty at their septic tank if we ever have to come home with full tanks.

After a year of ownership of our 291 we discovered another storage section under the rear bunk when you lift the bottom mattress up. Walla, there it is, bonus storage space.

You're talking about the access area to the tub/shower plumbing. Yes it is a great place to use for storage. It is also an easy area for mice to enter from the enclosed underbelly. We had one make a comfy nest out of 4 rolls of toilet paper during a 2 month peroid that we didn't use our camper. Make sure you open that compartment OFTEN and check for "houseguest" and you may even want to keep some kind of trap in there, just don't forget it.

This is our extra blankets and fan storage area. And yes, it is a great storage place.
