I am happy with my GS280

My wife Kay and I bought a slightly used Grand Surveyor GS280 on Ebay last December. It was in Montgomery AL and we live in Louisiana. Our first night of camping was on the trip home. We had to setup after dark, chilly night, no propane, no flashlight, not enough blankets and of course no experience. Almost took a corner of the roof off the check in station. The very kind attendant gave us the last pull through and loaned us a flashlight, electric heater and more blankets. We (that includes me, wife and 6 yr.old daughter) decided to all sleep on the fold down sofa close to the heater. I'm 6'3" and got the widow position. There is no insulation below that sofa and the cold air comes right up the opening behind the laid out bed And my daughter pulled all the cover off on her side. I didn't have room to turn over and my feet were hanging off, or up on the shelf really.

Well, that was the first night. Things have improved.

There is more info about us on my reply on Surveyor heading.

Happy with our GS272

We picked up a show model GS272 in the spring of 2004 after several years of conversion van camping. It is our first TT. We went to many camper shows and were considering a PU but after watching a couple try to set one up in an early October snow storm we learned about the ultra-light trailers and shopped around for a floor plan we like. The GS272 was an instant hit when we first walked in. I started checking out quality issues on the net after the fact which allowed me to solve potential problems before they happened and have avioded having to take it to the dealer for service. I did, however, kill the awning by not having enough pitch so rain would run off. Overnight the awning filled up & bent the roller tube. I felt worse for the next camper who did the same and had his break in half. We camp from April through October and just traded in the conversion van for a 2004 F250 PSD King Ranch SVT. Looking forward to setting the cruise and seeing a ton of country!
