Problem with suspension 2006 Grand Surveyor

We bought this Grand Surveyor brand new and allready put a new set of tires on the trailer. Our dealer will not waranty it because it wasn't in the first year. They say we have to contact Forest River. They have given us a number to call and we have tried for weeks all we get is an answering machine that never calls us back. Our dealer says it's not a warranty issue but the tires started to wear the first summer we used it. My husband rotated them and we should of took it back then. But not realizing what was going on we didn't. The second summer while in Canada a guy came up to us and asked us if we had any tire problems he had a brand new Grand Surveyor and had the same problem. Has anybody else out there had the same problem? The dealer is telling us just to go get an alignment which we may end up having to do but we feel this was bad from the factory and they should take care of the problem. We had a lot of minor problems when we bought the trailer that they did take care of. Is there any body that has any suggestions? Thanks Kitty

Never thought about it before, but, where would you get your trailer wheels aligned if the Dealer's service department can't do it??

Man I HATE a dealer that won't stand behind the sale and take care of the customer that gave it their business & money. What sort of tire wear are you experiencing? Inner, outer, scalloping? Here's an article from Trailer Life that touches on the problem. http://www.trailerlife.com/rvtech/cnp/cnp_tires.cfm I suppose it's like a car or truck - realignment is an owner's responsibility.

Kitty, if you have AL-KO axles here is a phone number to AL-KO 574-294-6651 and ask for Chris, he will do everything he can to help you.

We are going to try this phone number. Not sure on the axles ours are torsion bars not leaf springs.

We got a hold of Chris and he called our RV dealer is Michigan. They are coresponding now. Chris said they would just replace the axles. Which was great news to us. Then our dealer called us and said we would have to pay for the labor, which Chris failed to mention. Our dealer said he would call us back. We feel either Forest River or the Axle Company are responsible for this. I will let you know how it all turns out. Thanks for your help. Oh by the way the RV Dealer is giving Chris the numbers he needs. We do think the RV Dealer should of did this leg work for us. Kitty
