26rr vents

So I'm getting ready for my big trip and have never hauled my bike in there yet. Since I'm bringing it this time I thought about the possibility of using the front and rear side vents. Do you all use these when hauling toys? Do you open them to be streamlined with trailer or opposite way to force air in?

I was told not to open towards the front because the air can catch them and blow them out. Sounded good to me so I didn't do it. Just my 2¢.

I didn't. Only hauled my bike twice. Should have opened them. I couldn't figure out how on my 26rr. I have a different trailer now and it is much easier. On new trailer they rotate around the bar on the inside. Someone else will have to definitively answer the how on a 26rr.

on the 26rr ,you open the front one out and the back out and the air flows in the front and out the back, they only open one way

On my 26rr they rotate on a bar in the inside as well and you can open both of them either way. It makes sense to me to open the front on where it will create "drag" for lack of better words, bc it would force air into the camper, and the rear where it was aerodynamical...but I didn't want the wind to rip it off as previously mentioned. Just wondering how everyone else did it

In the summer, we open both vents toward the rear and our roof vents with all weather covers while traveling with or without our toys onboard to reduce static heat build up. Let's the ac work as designed upon arrival.

That is the best thing I've heard today. Thanks for sharing this!

Towards the rear you mean where they are aerodynamical with trailer

26rr vents

They are open to the back of the trailer. If we opened them forward, they would gather our luv bugs in the spring and fall and all our Florida liquid sunshine almost daily when on the road.

I almost always travel with mine open..... keeps the gas fumes under control. Front open to the front, rear open to the rear.

As far as drag goes, the I bet the 18 or so square inches won't matter against the square footage on the front of the trailer.

And no problems with the wind catching and blowing it off I assume?

It only seems to make sense to me that's how you'd open them

I would only ever open facing rear while traveling. The air will still circulate. Just think of the old sunroofs that use to be in cars. You would open them facing rear and the air would circulate through.

I would not want one to rip off. Sometimes I travel with mine open facing rear and sometimes have them closed.

I guess my bike tank is sealed good because I do not get gas smell with my bike inside.

While stopped I open them and turn on fantastic fan and it circulates the air nicely. I have a max air cover over fan.

So with this cover I do keep the fantastic fan open when traveling.

4 small screws in the a
Upper part of fan assembly casing. Then mine cotter pins to brackets held by screws for easy removal and cleaning. Click image for larger version

Is that the maxxair 1 or 2? I see the 1 says it's not for high powered vent fans and the 2 says it is

I'm also thinking about getting the smoke one to block some of the light that comes into the bathroom
