27RR Grey Wolf - Page 5

Took her out on maiden voyage this last weekend. Weather didn't cooperate but the Grey Wolf worked flawlessly. Learned a few tricks, like removing the equalizer bars at the water fill up so I wasn't making all that embarrassing noise driving through the CG. Going again this weekend.
I did somehow manage to sheer a pin in my front stabilizer jack, must have done it when I raised it, because when I got home, it wouldn't go down, just spins. Guess I better figure out how to replace that. I used the crank, and frankly, it's a lot quicker than the electric motor.

Oh, and somehow I managed to get 9.5 mpg average for the trip. Stayed at about 63 mph.

I wouldn't let noises from my hitch make me take it apart before I was ready to un-hook. It's quite common for those things to moan and squeak and I wouldn't worry about it.

I put a little grease on my hitch joints and it fixed most of the noise. I would not unhitch until TH is in position.

First time with scooter in garage.
Rhoadzie, I think the friction (aka noise) is by design, IMO grease would be a friend of sway.
Toby, I installed Firestone air bags in my suspension so I can easily handle the short trip without equilizer.

I thought so too. But, when reading Equalizer instruction manual, they say it is ok. I did it for the first time last weekend and pulled over 1200 miles without any noticeable sway issues, even in a 30 mph crosswind. Equalizer also has a lube to use and they also sell a sleeve to put on the L-brackets that I am thinking about instead of grease.

It's freekin amazing at the room in the garage! By comparison our 27RR haulers are pretty dinky yet have a lot of room in my opinion! We haul a 10'6" RZR XP1000 that is also 68" wide and still have a little room in the garage area for a grill, the 'table' that comes with it, and some misc lumber. Thank GOD the garage side door lines up perfectly with the RZR door for getting out of the RZR once in the garage though. LOL

For all those that may be wondering, last night I ditched the 24" LG TV and mounted a 39" Insignia TV and a Insignia 20.00 TV mount on the wall where the 24" was. The FAUX rock stuff looked pretty mickey mouse to me, so I removed it. The 39" TV fits absolutely PERFECT!!! I bought everything at best buy and it was 280.00 incl sales tax.

I opted for going overboard as I usually do, and cut a 20" piece of 5/4 decking board to put inside the cabinet directly behind TV mount so that I could use 2+1/2" deck screws and make the mount rock solid. I really believe the TV can now stay on the mount when in tow.

Shower caddy
Fixed top drawer to hold silverware tray w/o losing space in drawer
Added towel racks to both bathroom door (and attached w/hooks on outside of doors for more crap to hang (hats and such)
Added 39" TV and matching wall mount
Added stainless eye bolts under storage cabinets in garage to be able to keep the cushions up off the floor when hauling the RZR.

What did you do with your table? I have been trying to figure out how to keep it out of the way while haling my Victory CC motorcycle.

The table slides under the RZR when it's in the garage. I had thought about mounting eye bolts to wall at left front corner of garage, but unsure of where to mount eye bolts that they would hold the table securely and not yank bolts out of wall while in tow.

Yes, that was my thought also. I wanted to make sure it would not pull out and fall on the bike. The table will not fit under the Vic.

I keep saying I am going to measure the table to see actual width and then see what is on the market that is same width , but folds flat. (like the white plastic folding tables at Kmart and Walmart for 50.00 ish dollars. The table that comes in the 27RR is heavy and a little non-fun to deal with. Any time we go off by ourselves, we leave the table at home.

My 26RR has the same table and I found the latch not reliable and very difficult to use. As we mostly are just the two of us, as the table does not fold flat, and as it is awkward to store, I replaced it with a $30 white folding table from Walmart. This table is easy to use, takes up less space, and stores under the bed. If we need to have the table for a trip I can always put it in for that trip.

On our last trip we removed the table completely and also used a smaller lightweight table. It really opened things up for us so now I doubt we will ever use it again (unless we use it for the bed) or something.

Finally picked up my 2016 27RR. Still learning about it. Is it normal to pick up maybe 1 or 2 channels on TV or radio? Antenna isn't impressing me yet.

Did you press the little button on the antenna outlet plate? Without the signal booster not much happens. It also depends on what free to air channels are available in your area. Rotating the antenna can make a big difference and needs to be done slowly bit by bit for the best results. I got 8 or 10 at the campgrounds I went to not far from my home; but none at home - guess who didn't press the little button.
The radio uses a separate antenna and will pick up whatever any radio would pick up in the area. If not check all the connections from antenna down.

If your antenna is the manual wind up one, then the large round section rotates the antenna. You turn it and it will allow you to go almost 360 degrees. Turn it bit by bit from one extreme to the other watching the TV. Remember it must be turned back to the place indicated on the controls before winding the antenna down. That's how mine works on the 26RR.
