Ceiling lights in a 26rr

How does one get the cover off these lights? Have one that is either burned out or ? Doesn’t light up when push the crappy switch in the middle. Has any one replaced these with a better solution? If so what kind and where from ?

If those are the same as we have, a little turn CCW and they come off. Unfortunately it's hard to get ahold of them, and some don't turn easily. In addition, some of ours seem to be installed incorrectly. I think the installer 'popped' them on and the tabs that are supposed to be in the slots in the metal housing are, instead, above the metal housing. In the middle of a camping trip I removed one of ours by sticking a knife point in the side and using that for 'grip.'

I'd love to replace ours, but haven't got the fun coupons for that yet.

If I may offer up a 'not quite what you asked for, but related' tip: If yours are like ours it's really easy for that rubber button to get misaligned with the internal switch (off to one side). I've found if I grab the rubber button with a pair of needle-nose pliers (like on my Leatherman), pull straight down, and release, it realigns the button with the switch.

Thanks for the info, I finally used a flat blade screwdriver and gently as I could pryed off the cover. Found the same issue you had w/ switch. All is working.

Glad it was an easy fix.

I really hate those rubber buttons. Had to re-align a button three times on our last camping weekend.

I've been mental engineering a fix, but know the best option is to save up fun coupons until I can replace them all.

Or just keep my Leatherman handy...
