Mice

I live in the country there are mice here, I have them in my yard and have had them in my house but never in my trailer. Most rv places give the same recommendation. No i dont put dryer sheets in my house, the smell is too strong.

We have used dryer sheets in our TT for the past 9 years and have never had a mouse or or other critter problem. We also use Irish Spring soap bars, cut in half or thirds. We place the dryer sheets at all openings and where pipes come in to the trailer, all the corners, the outside storage area, outside shower, hotg water heater, and the cabinets. The soap pieces go pretty much in the same general inside ares. Probably a little bit of overkill.

Asked a couple of friends who kept a trailer year round at a nearby park for 20+ years. They had mice the first couple of winters after buying their first trailer. Then were told about dryer sheets by other campers in the park. New dryer sheets at winterization time each year there after. With the dryer sheets, no mice. The park they used was in SE Michigan, not too far from Jackson.

Never heard of using charcoal for moisture, but it will definitely help control odors.

YMMV

We have not used any of them. I only buy Fresh Cab and have not had any problems as I also use these in my chicken coop and have not seen mice

I haven't used anything in or around any of my trailers over the last 26 years except De-Con. Never have had a mouse problem ever and have never seen any of the De-Con eaten...

I've been using bounce dryer sheets for 3 yrs now and have had mice in the tt. I put them everywhere; under mattress, in drawers , under/ on top of seat cushions ect. I talked my so into doing it last year ( he had trouble with mice the previous 2yrs) and had no mice all winter.

If you have mice and need to kill them please use good old fashion snap traps and not poison. Once they eat the poison they need to go outside and find water. Many times they are then eaten by owls or hawks resulting in the death of the raptors.

We use Shake Away rodent repellent. We put it in containers in several locations inside and outside of the RV. We tried Cab Fresh last winter and didn't have mice, but the smell gave me headaches. This year I am using peppermint oil on cotton balls, Irish Spring soap, and Shake Away.
