Cherokee 255RR in wind

Has anyone pulled a 255RR toy hauler fifth wheel in the crazy wind we have in Wyoming and surrounding states? 13.5 feet is a long way up there and a big wind sail.

Looking at buying one for my Polaris Ranger. Just nervous about the height.
Thanks
Scott

It would help if you posted what you'll be towing it with, since you didn't list it in your profile.

If you haven’t already you’ll want to replace the factory shocks with something HD. This will help some with sway but mostly rebound.

I’ll be adding ranch rsx9000s to my F350 Srw.

Good tires and proper inflation help.

I'll let those that know to advise about TV. But whatever the rig you have strong winds can cause a problem. I saw a YouTube about an 18 wheeler being pushed over by the wind. If the wind is gusty, I would advise finding a place to stop and rest for a while. Better to be late than not get there at all.

I agree with Ray. 30-35 mph sustained, I'm looking to stay and wait for a better travel day or eat if it's going to subside in a few hours. It sucks being white knuckled every time a big gust hits you or you get a semi passing you and you go from counter steering for the wind to the semi blocking it and back to the wind hitting you again. Height doesn't really matter a ton, it sucks bad in a 12' tall camper too ;-)

We pull a 255rr around sodak. Blackhills, and 2 trips a year to Shadehill, up by lemon. I'm not a fan of pulling in the wind. " kind of a wuss actually". We are going to Lake Desmet over the fourth. The 255 is the most stable, easy pulling rv I have owned in 40 years. I'm a white knuckle kind of driver, but the 255 calms me down. It does handle better with the sxs in the garage. Tends to float around without the extra weight. We love ours, good luck. Enjoy.
